Delights of Denis Private Island, Seychelles

It was a dream come true for me when I was lucky enough to spend a few days on Denis Private Island Resort in the Seychelles - simply paradise, no phones, no keys & no shoes.

The Flight from Mahe International was an experience within itself on a small light propeller aircraft that took just 30 minutes. The views were simply amazing as we flew over the crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean, passing over islands on the way. We landed on a grass strip and were greeted and escorted to our secluded beach cottages, each with its own garden leading down to our private space on the beach. Inside the cottage you will find a four-poster bed and an open-air bathroom with a roll top bath surrounded by foliage. There are only 23 beach cottages and 2 villas, so very small and intimate.

Our first evening as spent watching the sun go down, sipping a Sundowner Cocktail followed by a romantic candle lit dinner on the Beach – nothing short of paradise.

The Seas surrounding Denis are renowned for their rich marine Life, I particularly enjoyed snorkelling amongst the Turtles, however the Dive centre here also offers Scuba Diving and Deep-Sea Fishing trips.

One of the highlights of my stay was a guided nature tour around the private island, visiting the farm which provides all the produce for the kitchen, feeding the resident Giant Tortoise and spotting some of the rarest birds on our way through the forest.

Denis makes a perfect setting for a wedding, honeymoon, to renew your wedding vows or celebrate a special Anniversary. It’s just about perfect for that special get away from it all luxury holiday too.

I just wish I could have stayed on the island longer, it is truly the place to unwind! You can combine Denis with a stay on another larger island like Praslin or Mahe to experience the true essence of the Seychelles.
