Lapland

A land of 190,000 Reindeer, 749 Fells and 1 Santa Claus!

Lapland is the most Norther region of Finland and visited all year round but really comes alive from December to April when the snow is on the ground and visitors flock to this region in search of the winter wonderland and of course Santa Claus!

It’s a land of contrast, where in the summer they have 24-hour sunlight which replaces the dark winter days. The bustle of its towns and ski resorts can be forgotten just minutes away as you step into the peace and quiet of the wilderness. There is of course always that change of watching the Aurora Borealis or Northern lights dance across the night sky.

Rovaniemi is the capital of Finnish Lapland, located on the Arctic Circle, it provides modern services and lots of year-round actives for its many visitors.

Yllas and Levi are true wonderlands. Cross country or slope skiing mixed with excellent cuisine and a large amount of fun is what you find here. Saariselka, located in the north of Lapland close to Russia is exceptionally friendly but uncommercialized with a unique frontier atmosphere and spectacular cross-country skiing.

Take the family on a Santa adventure, experiencing Reindeer sleigh rides or dash through the forests on a snow mobile or husky drawn sleigh. Of course, it wouldn’t be right to leave without meeting Santa and his elves!

Finally, Lapland makes for the most magical wedding, with a selection of venues including ice chapels and log cabins and the possibility of the North Lights dancing across your wedding night sky, this really is a fairy-tale destination.
