Denis Private Island

Staying at the stunning Denis Private Island is about as close to being on your own private island as you can get. One of the most Northly islands in the Seychelles, it feels like it is a million miles from anywhere!

Arriving from Mahe on a light aircraft, you touchdown on the islands grass runway and are met by the friendly staff in the buggies who whisk you off to the open sided central lobby at the heart of the hotel before taking you to one of only 25 hugely private beach cottages. Spend your day relaxing on your own terrace and enjoy the spectacular views or embark on a complimentary kayak, snorkelling or nature tour. The protected natural lagoon is perfect for safe swimming or why not enjoy diving and deep-sea fishing.

Life on Denis Island is all about wildlife and sustainability. Rise early with the Rangers, to spot tracks of egg-laying sea turtles on the beach or scout the forests for magpie robins and paradise flycatchers to learn more about breeding and tagging projects for these critically endangered birds. You can have a tour around the organic farm on the island, it produces its own poultry and pork, whilst the fish served in the restaurant is caught offshore and served with tasty vegetables mostly grown here too.

With no phone signal, internet connection (unless you venture to the library) or cable TV, this hotel truly allows you to switch off and enjoy quality time with your loved ones. A perfect location for a wedding or honeymoon or even to celebrate a special occasion.

Spending 2 weeks on Denis may be a little quiet for most, however, we recommend combining this with a 2^nd centre to make the most memorable holiday in the Seychelles.

There are things to do on the island but more than anything it focuses on relaxation in your natural surroundings.

Land Activities – Discover the natural beauty of the island and see the fantastic flora and fauna, resident experts are always happy to advise you. Take a look at the Old Village workshops, a tour of the island farm and meet the giant tortoise colony on your way round. Simply meander around the island on its many nature trails and see where you end up – generally on a deserted beach. If you are feeling a little more energetic you can always have a game of tennis, snooker or a chess challenge!

Water Sports – the warm waters in the lagoon around the island makes a perfect place for a leisurely swim. With a house reef just off the beach, you cannot leave Denis without having snorkelled over the wonderful corals and to observe the amazing marine life. For those with the need to burn off some energy, canoes are available from the boathouse. There is also a PADI dive centre and with 9 coral dive sites you will not fail to see turtles, sailfish, rays and dolphins that regularly are around the reefs. You can also game, bottom and fly fish here too.

Spa – If you go looking for a Spa building on Denis you won’t find one on this gorgeous island, the Spa comes to you. Treatments can be done within your cottage or can be set up under the casuarina trees where you can listen to the waves gently lapping onto the beach. If you are a real Spa enthusiast, you can stay in the Beachfront Spa Cottage and enjoy your treatments in your very own Spa Pavilion.

Restaurant and Bar - Accommodation is always offered on a full board basis at Denis Private Island. Breakfast and lunch comprise fantastic, fresh buffets with live cooking stations whilst dinner is a more formal affair, consisting of exceptional five-course table d’hôte menus, with the occasional buffet themed evening with 80% of the food being produced on the island.

all rooms are situated on the North Western tip of the island and are surrounded by lush vegetation providing the upmost privacy. Each cottage or villa is wonderfully decorated with traditional furnishings and wooden flooring. With open air bathrooms and garden courtyards a stay here is truly an experience of a lifetime.

Beach Cottage of which there are 3 – All have private gardens and an open-air bathroom with an outside shower. Each also has its own veranda with a private beachfront.

Deluxe Beach Cottage of which there are 10 – Each of these cottages has an extended sea facing private deck with Sala and Day Bed. They also have a private beachfront with sun loungers.

Beachfront Spa Cottage of which there are 10 – these cottages have their private courtyard and garden which features a large wellness/massage pavilion. They have an extended sea facing deck with Sala and Day Bed.

Family Villa – two-bedroom villa with large beachfront area is perfect for families. Enjoy dining on the large sea facing deck or relax on the beach with your villa loungers and chairs.

Beach Villa - a luxury private beachfront villa that has a large outdoor living area with its own private plunge pool, Sala and Day Bed. It also has a dining and BBQ area.

Situated on the main island of Mahe, the Constance Ephelia is just a 40-minute private car transfer from the airport.
